Baalath (Bah´uh-lath)

A place-name that is a feminine form of the word baal (“master”), the name of a Semitic deity. It is the name of a city in northern Canaan assigned to the tribe of Dan (Josh 19:44), whose site is unknown. It is also given as one of the cities later rebuilt by Solomon (1Kgs 9:18).
