    Beth Alpert Nakhai Associate Professor,  University of Arizona

    Beth Alpert Nakhai is an associate professor in the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Her research interests include archaeology, biblical studies, Canaanite and Israelite religion, Israel in antiquity, and the lives of women in Israel and the ancient Near East. She recently published The World of Women in the Ancient and Classical Near East (Cambridge Scholars Publishing. 2008).

    Roger Nam Assistant Professor,  George Fox Evangelical Seminary

    Roger Nam is assistant professor of biblical studies at George Fox Evangelical Seminary. His research interests include Late Bronze Age civilizations and the economy of the ancient Near East. He is the author of Portrayals of Exchange in the Book of Kings (Brill, 2012).

    Dietmar Neufeld Associate Professor,  University of British Columbia

    Dietmar Neufeld (1949-2015) was associate professor of formative Christianity in the Greco-Roman social world at UBC, Canada. He wrote Mockery and Secretism in the Social World of Mark’s Gospel (Bloomsbury, 2014), edited of The Social Sciences and Biblical Translation (SBL, 2008), and coedited Understanding the Social World of the New Testament (Routledge, 2010).

    Judith H. Newman Associate Professor,  University of Toronto

    Judith H. Newman is associate professor of Hebrew Bible and early Judaism at Emmanuel College and in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include the ritual performance of texts, formation of scripture, and early biblical interpretation. She is the author of Praying by the Book: The Scripturalization of Prayer in Second Temple Judaism (Scholars Press, 1999) and Early Jewish Prayers in Greek, co-authored with Pieter van der Horst (de Gruyter, 2008).
