Zamzummim

Zamzummim (Zam-zuh´mim)

The name given by the Ammonites to an ancient race of giants who were the original inhabitants of the area east of the Jordan later occupied by the Ammonites and Moabites; the Israelites called them Rephaim (Deut 2:20-21). Some scholars identify them with the descendants of Ham who are elsewhere called Zuzim (Gen 14:5).
