Sibbecai (Sib´uh-ki)

A Hushamite who killed a giant named Saph (2Sam 21:18) in the battles against the Philistines at Gob (Gezer in 1 and 2 Chron.) Identified as a Zerahite (1Chr 27:11), he commanded David’s forces in the eighth month and was among the elite of the thirty warriors (1Chr 11:29; possibly “Mebunnai,” 2Sam 23:27).

2Sam 21:18

18After this a battle took place with the Philistines, at Gob; then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was one of the descendants of the giants.

1Chr 27:11

11Eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
