Shual (Shoo´uhl; Heb., “fox” or “jackal”?)

1 A territory (one of three) against which Philistine raiders moved in the time of King Saul (eleventh century BCE). Its association with Ophrah suggests a northerly location for the Philistine camp at Michmash. 2 A portion of the Asherite clan of Zophah (1Chr 7:36).
