Shimea

Shimea (Shim´ee-uh; Heb., “God has heard”)

1 The third son of Jesse (1Chr 2:13). 2 One of David’s sons born in Jerusalem (1Chr 3:5). 3 A Merarite Levite (1Chr 6:30). 4 A Gershomite Levite (1Chr 6:39).

1Chr 2:13

13Jesse became the father of Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third,

1Chr 3:5

5These were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon, four by Bath-shua, daughter of Ammiel;

1Chr 6:30

30Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, and Asaiah his son.

1Chr 6:39

39and his brother Asaph, who stood on his right, namely, Asaph son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,
