Shihor (Shi´hor)

A body of water “east of Egypt” (Josh 13:3) or near the Nile (Isa 23:3) that served as a reference for the southern edge of Israel (1Chr 13:5). The northern parts of the Pelusiac or Bubastite branches of the Nile in the eastern Delta are most likely meant.

3and were on the mighty waters;
your revenue was the grain of Shihor,
the harvest of the Nile;
you were the merchant of the nations.

5So David assembled all Israel from the Shihor of Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.
