Shedeur

Shedeur (Shed´ee-uhr; Heb., “Shaddai is light” or “Shaddai is fire”)

The father of the Reubenite Elizur who was chosen to help Moses as tribal head (Num 1:5; Num 2:10; Num 7:30; Num 7:35; Num 10:18).

Num 1:5

5These are the names of the men who shall assist you:
From Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur.

Num 2:10

10On the south side shall be the regimental encampment of Reuben by companies. The leader of the Reubenites shall be Elizur son of Shedeur,

Num 7:30

30On the fourth day Elizur son of Shedeur, the leader of the Reubenites:

Num 7:35

35and for the sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Elizur son of Shedeur.

Num 10:18

18Next the standard of the camp of Reuben set out, company by company; and over the whole company was Elizur son of Shedeur.
