Sela

Sela (See´luh; Heb., “crag”)

1 The fortress city of Edom (2Kgs 14:7) stormed and renamed Sela by King Amaziah of Judah. 2 An Amorite border town (Judg 1:36) whose location is unknown. 3 An unidentified location mentioned in (Isa 16:1).

2Kgs 14:7

7He killed ten thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt and took Sela by storm; he called it Jokthe-el, which is its name to this day.

Judg 1:36

36The border of the Amorites ran from the ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela and upward.

Isa 16:1

1Send lambs
to the ruler of the land,
from Sela, by way of the desert,
to the mount of daughter Zion.
