A word used as both noun and verb in the Bible. Aside from its common verbal use, biblical texts employ it as a noun meaning a list (Ps 40:7), a record of performance (Heb 10:7), and simply as the rolled form (scroll) of a book (Isa 34:4).

Ps 40:7

7Then I said, “Here I am;
in the scroll of the book it is written of me.

Heb 10:7

7Then I said, ‘See, God, I have come to do your will, O God’
(in the scroll of the book it is written of me).”

Isa 34:4

4All the host of heaven shall rot away,
and the skies roll up like a scroll.
