plane

A tree of the genus Platanus. Biblical usage associates it with pine (Isa 41:19; Isa 60:13) and describes its use to control the appearance of offspring of animals (Gen 30:37-39). Its symbolic value as beauty is also mentioned (Ezek 31:8).

Isa 41:19

19I will put in the wilderness the cedar,
the acacia, the myrtle, and the olive;
I will set in the desert the cypress,
the plane and the pine together,

Isa 60:13

13The glory of Lebanon shall come to you,
the cypress, the plane, and the pine,
to beautify the place of my sanctuary;
and I will glorify where my feet rest.
