Pirathon

Pirathon (Pihr´uh-thon)

A town considered the home of Abdon, who was buried there (Judg 12:15), and Benaiah, one of David’s guards (2Sam 23:30; 1Chr 11:31; 1Chr 27:14).

Judg 12:15

15Then Abdon son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried at Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the hill country of the Amalekites.

2Sam 23:30

30Benaiah of Pirathon; Hiddai of the torrents of Gaash;

1Chr 11:31

31Ithai son of Ribai of Gibeah of the Benjaminites, Benaiah of Pirathon,

1Chr 27:14

14Eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah of Pirathon, of the Ephraimites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
