A weight averaging about 7.8 grams. This makes it equal to three-fifths of a heavy shekel or seven-eighths of a light shekel. In (1Sam 13:21) it was the Philistine price for sharpening iron implements.

21The charge was two-thirds of a shekel for the plowshares and for the mattocks, and one-third of a shekel for sharpening the axes and for setting the goads.
