Pentapolis

Pentapolis (Pen-tap´uh-lis; Gk., “five cities”)

In Philistia a league of five cities ruled by five lords (Josh 13:3; 1Sam 7:7). In (Wis 10:6), Pentapolis refers to the five Cities of the Plain (Gen 14:2). Cyrene was part of a Pentapolis in Cyrenaica.
