Othniel

Othniel (Oth´nee-uhl)

One of the minor judges mentioned in Joshua and Judges. The son of Kenaz and brother of Caleb, Othniel won his niece’s hand in marriage by capturing the city of Debir. The other valiant deed attributed to Othniel was the defeat of Cushan-rishathaim, king of Mesopotamia (Judg 3:7-11).
