Nahshon

Nahshon (Nah´shon)

The son of Amminadad and the leader of the tribe of Judah during the wilderness wandering (Exod 6:23; Num 1:7; Num 10:14). He is also an ancestor of David and stands in the lineage of Jesus through Joseph (Ruth 4:20; Matt 1:4; Luke 3:32).

Exod 6:23

23Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Num 1:7

7From Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab.

Num 10:14

14The standard of the camp of Judah set out first, company by company, and over the whole company was Nahshon son of Amminadab.

Ruth 4:20

20Amminadab of Nahshon, Nahshon of Salmon,

Matt 1:4

4and Aram the father of Aminadab, and Aminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon,

Luke 3:32

32son of Jesse, son of Obed, son of Boaz, son of Sala, son of Nahshon,
