Subterranean streams said to water the earth in (Gen 2:6 RSV). Storm-driven mist or fog is used as an image for those who are led astray into sin (2Pet 2:17); coupled with darkness it is used as a description of a person going blind (Acts 13:11).

Gen 2:6

6but a stream would rise from the earth, and water the whole face of the ground—

2Pet 2:17

17These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm; for them the deepest darkness has been reserved.
