Meshullam (Mi-shool´uhm; Heb., “reconciled, perfected”)

1 The grandfather of the scribe Shaphan during the reign of Josiah (2Kgs 22:3). 2 The son of Zerubbabel (1Chr 3:19). 3 A Gadite who lived in Bashan (1Chr 5:13). 4 A Benjaminite, son of Elpaal (1Chr 8:17). 5 A Benjaminite, son of Shephatiah (1Chr 9:8). 6 A Benjaminite, father of Sallu (1Chr 9:7; Neh 11:7). 7 A priest, son of Zadok, and father of Hilkiah (1Chr 9:11). 8 A priest, son of Meshillemith, and father of Jahzerah (1Chr 9:12). 9 A Levite of the Kohathite clan who assisted in Josiah’s repair of the Temple (2Chr 34:12). 10 The son of Bani, a man who married a foreign woman in the time of Ezra (Ezra 10:29). He is perhaps the same Meshullam who opposed Ezra’s marriage policy (Ezra 10:15) and sought Levites for Temple service (Ezra 8:6). 11 The son of Berechiah, who helped build the wall of Jerusalem under Nehemiah (Neh 3:4; Neh 3:30). His daughter married Jehohanan (Neh 6:18). 12 The son of Besodeiah who helped repair the Old Gate in Jerusalem under Nehemiah (Neh 3:6). 13 One who stood at Ezra’s left hand when he read the Torah (Neh 8:4). 14 A priest who set his seal to the covenant in (Neh 10:7). 15 A chief of the people who set his seal to the covenant in (Neh 10:20). 16 The head of the priestly house of Ezra in the days of Joiakim (Neh 12:13). 17 The head of the priestly house of Ginnethon in the days of Joiakim (Neh 12:16). 18 A gatekeeper (Neh 12:25). 19 A prince of Judah who took part in the procession dedicating the rebuilt wall of Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah (Neh 12:33).
