Mahaneh-dan (May´hun-uh-dan´; Heb., “camp of Dan”)

The location in Judah where the Spirit of the Lord began to stir Samson (Judg 13:25), and where the Danites encamped when they were en route to Ephraim (Judg 18:12).

Judg 13:25

25The spirit of the Lord began to stir him in Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Judg 18:12

12and went up and encamped at Kiriath-jearim in Judah. On this account that place is called Mahaneh-dan to this day; it is west of Kiriath-jearim.
