Mahalath (May´huh-lath; Heb., “mild”)

1 The granddaughter of Abraham, the daughter of Ishmael, and one of the wives of Esau (Gen 28:9). 2 The wife of King Rehoboam of Judah (924–907 BCE) and the granddaughter of David (2Chr 11:18). 3 A term of unknown significance that occurs in the titles of (Ps 53 and Ps 88). It may be a musical notation, referring to a melody or rhythm pattern, although even that remains speculation.

Gen 28:9

9Esau went to Ishmael and took Mahalath daughter of Abraham's son Ishmael, and sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife in addition to the wives he had.

2Chr 11:18

Rehoboam's Marriages
