Machir

Machir (May´kihr; possibly Heb., “hireling” or “property [of God]”)

1 The son of Ammiel from Lo-debar who harbored Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson (2Sam 9:4-5), and was an ally of David (2Sam 17:27). 2 Either the oldest (Josh 17:1-2) or only (Num 26:29) son of Manasseh.
