Kenan

Kenan (Kee┬┤nuhn)

Antediluvian Israelite ancestor. The son of Enosh (Gen 5:9; 1Chr 1:2) and the father of Mahalalel (Gen 5:12; 1Chr 1:2) and others (Gen 5:13), he lived a legendary 910 years (Gen 5:14). Some suggest the name is an alternate form of Cain, since it is sometimes found as Cainan (Luke 3:37).
