Jokshan

Jokshan (Jok´shan)

The second child of Abraham and his second wife, Keturah (Gen 25:2; 1Chr 1:32), and the father of Sheba and Dedan (Gen 25:3; 1Chr 1:32). Different parentages are assigned elsewhere for Sheba and Dedan (Gen 10:7; Gen 10:28).

Gen 25:2

2She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.

1Chr 1:32

32The sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

Gen 25:3

3Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan. The sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.

1Chr 1:32

32The sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

Gen 10:7

7The descendants of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The descendants of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
