Jehoshabeath (Jee´hoh-shab´ee-ath; Jehoshaba, 2 Kings 11:2; Heb., “Yah[weh] is an oath”)

The daughter of King Jehoram, and wife of the priest Jehoiada. She saved her young nephew Joash (Jehoash) from the murderous wrath of Athaliah, the wicked queen, mother of the slain Ahaziah, by hiding him during her six-year reign (2Chr 22:10-12).
