Jazer

Jazer (Jay´zer)

A site that was probably located a few miles west of modern Amman in Jordan. References to this site in the OT are to a settled place and in two instances to the territory around the settlement (Num 32:1-3; Josh 13:25; Josh 21:39). At various times the site belonged to Amorites, Israelites, Ammonites, and apparently Moabites (Num 21:24; Num 21:32; Josh 13:25; Isa 16:8; Jer 48:32; 1Macc 5:8).
