Jattir (Jat´uhr)

A hill country village assigned to the tribe of Judah (Josh 15:48) and allocated to levitical descendants of Aaron (Josh 21:14; 1Chr 6:57). Residents received part of the war spoils from David after his victory over the Amalekites at Ziklag (1Sam 30:27).

48And in the hill country, Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,

14Jattir with its pasture lands, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,

57To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron, Libnah with its pasture lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,
