Japhia (Juh-fi´uh)

1 A king of Lachish, in southern Judea, allied against Gibeon (Josh 10:3) and executed by Joshua at a Makkedah cave (vv. 22–26). 2 A son of David (2Sam 5:15; 1Chr 3:7; 1Chr 14:6). 3 A town on the southern edge of the territory of Zebulun (Josh 19:12), a short distance southwest of the Nazareth of Jesus’s day.
