Jannes and Jambres

Jannes and Jambres (Jan´iz, jam´briz)

According to Jewish tradition, the names of the Egyptian magicians who oppose Moses in (Exod 7:11-23). Their names are not given in the biblical text itself, but they are referred to in (2Tim 3:8), which draws on the popular extrabiblical tradition.

8As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these people, of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith, also oppose the truth.
