herald

One who carries and announces messages on behalf of another. In (Isa 40:9 and Isa 41:27) the herald is to bring “good tidings” to Zion and Jerusalem as commanded. In (Dan 3:4) a herald announces the demands for allegiance to the golden statue on behalf of Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar. In (2Pet 2:5) Noah is characterized as a “herald of righteousness.”
