Hararite

Hararite (Hair´uh-rit)

The name of a clan or a place from which some of David’s elite guard (“Thirty”) came. 1 Identification of the descent of Shammah, third of the three closest of David’s bodyguards (2Sam 23:11). 2 Identification of the descent of Jonathan, son of Shammah (2Sam 23:33), and Ahiam, son of Sharar (2Sam 23:33), members of David’s “Thirty.” They are probably identical to Jonathan, son of Shagee, and Ahiam, son of Sachar (1Chr 11:34; 1Chr 11:35).
