Gideoni

Gideoni (Gid´ee-oh´ni)

The Benjaminite father of Abidan. His son was appointed to assist Moses in the wilderness with the census as head of the Benjaminite clan (Num 1:11). The son also led the marching Benjaminite group (Num 2:22), presented the Benjaminite offering on the ninth day of the dedication of the altar (Num 7:60; Num 7:65), and supervised the Benjaminite encampment (Num 10:24).

Num 1:11

11From Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni.

Num 2:22

22Then the tribe of Benjamin: The leader of the Benjaminites shall be Abidan son of Gideoni,

Num 7:60

60On the ninth day Abidan son of Gideoni, the leader of the Benjaminites:

Num 7:65

65and for the sacrifice of well-being, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Abidan son of Gideoni.

Num 10:24

24and over the company of the tribe of Benjamin was Abidan son of Gideoni.
