Euphrates

Euphrates (Yoo-fray┬┤teez)

River, the largest river in western Asia. It was one of four rivers flowing from Eden (Gen 2:14) in biblical tradition. It served as the northern boundary of Israelite territory under David (2Sam 8:3), but was terrain usually under Aramean control.

Gen 2:14

14The name of the third river is Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

2Sam 8:3

3David also struck down King Hadadezer son of Rehob of Zobah, as he went to restore his monument at the river Euphrates.
