Demas

Demas (Dee´muhs)

Originally one of Paul’s “fellow workers” who joins him in sending greetings to Philemon, Apphia, and Archippus (Phlm 1:24); cf. Col 4:14). According to (2Tim 4:10), Demas, “in love with this present world,” deserted Paul and went to Thessalonica.

24and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.

Col 4:14

14Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas greet you.

2Tim 4:10

10for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
