Carmi (Kahr´mi)

1 The son of Reuben (Gen 46:9; Exod 6:14; 1Chr 5:3) who migrated to Egypt with his brothers and was subsequently considered head of the clan of Carmites (Num 26:6). 2 The father of the Achan (Josh 7:1; Josh 7:18) or Achar (1Chr 2:7), known for his theft of illicit booty, who was listed as a son of Judah (1Chr 4:1).
