Bar-Jona (Bahr-joh´nuh)

An Aramaic surname of Simon Peter meaning “son of Jona” or “son of John” (Matt 16:17; John 1:42; John 21:15).

Matt 16:17

17And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven.

John 1:42
