Asaiah (Uh-zay┬┤yuh)

1 The servant of Josiah, commissioned, with others, to inquire of the Lord concerning the book of the law that had been found (2Kgs 22:12; 2Kgs 22:14; 2Chr 34:20), probably an early version of Deuteronomy. 2 A family leader in the time of King Hezekiah in Judah (1Chr 4:36). 3 A Levite and Merari clan member, son of Haggiah (1Chr 6:30; 1Chr 15:6; 1Chr 15:11). 4 A Shilonite (Shelonite?) descendant of a returnee from Babylon (1Chr 9:5).
