Arpad

Arpad (Ahr´pad)

A city and small state in northern Syria; the site may be Tell Rifaat, or Tell Erfad, twenty-five miles north of Aleppo. It is linked with Hamath (2Kgs 18:34; Isa 36:19) and with other cities in a question of the power of their kings (2Kgs 19:13; Isa 37:13).

2Kgs 18:34

34Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

Isa 36:19

19Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

2Kgs 19:13

13Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?”

Isa 37:13

13Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?”
