Ammiel (Am´ee-uhl)

1 A Danite, son of Gemalli. He was one of the spies sent by Moses into Canaan (Num 13:12). 2 The father of Machir, who protected Jonathan’s crippled son, Mephibosheth (2Sam 9:4-5), and equipped David at Mahanaim (2Sam 17:27). 3 The father of Bathshua (variant spelling of Bathsheba). 4 The sixth son of the Korahite Temple gatekeeper Obed-edom (1Chr 26:5).
